You are looking at a 1965 Cobra Tribute car, It was titled in 1992 as a SPCN (special Construction) Cobra. the motor is listed as a 1963 7.0 liter 8 cylinder, PVC 2x4 bbl carbs. Its a Ford FE big block and based on 7.0 liters its a 427. This is one of the many kit cars that were and are available to build. This one was previously titled in California and that is a big deal if you want to take it back to California. This is one of several companies that sold these bodies without a drivetrain, you could buy it and build it your way. the majority of the older ones you see have mustang 302 motors or some other small block from a donor vehicle. Since this car was built in the early 90's there were stiil FE motors available which makes it era correct. The original CSX cobras came with FE side oiler 427's and they built the street versions with the police interceptor 428's. there was a law suit against Shelby back in the day as they still referred to them as 427's. There is something else that makes this one unique, it has an automatic transmission, most people would argue including myself the thrill of a cobra besides the big block is rowing through the gears. Carroll Shelbys personal super snake was built with an automatic transmission, it sold to Ron Pratt for 3million a few years ago. If you are looking for an automatic so your wife could drive it as well that could make it a win win for both. This was built in 1992 stored inside a personal car collection.
the red paint is older but looks very nice, it has a couple stress cracks on the corner of the hood scoop, the front of the drivers seat is showing some wear and the carpet between the seats is showing some wear. The front lower air dam has some scrapes if you get on the ground and look up. The car overall looks very good, it has a battery cut off switch in the truck and an optima battery. It starts easy and has more power than you need, I rolled my foot into it, the second 4 bbl started to open and I let off. I was already getting sideways.
