For 2015, Polaris has replaced its popular RZR 800 series and upgraded it with its new 75-hp ProStar 900 powerplant. As for the RZR 900 S, even when it's equipped with electronic power steering, it's close to $5,000 cheaper than the High Performance XP 1000, After testing the new RZR S in the dunes, desert, and climbing rocks, we realized just how great a deal it was.
Suspension is surprisingly impressive. Its dual A-arm setup up front is similar to the XP 1000, with only 4 inches less wheel travel (12 inches compared to 16inches). Out back is an anti-sway-bar-equipped dual A-arm setup that helped create one predictable ride with very little, if any, body roll. The Fox 2.0 Podium shocks are a great value, and aside from the deep high-speed desert whoops, we were constantly complimenting the plushness of the ride. The 26-inch GBC Dirt Commander tires matched with 12.5 inches of ground clearance allowed us to hook up and clear everything Utah's amazing trails had to offer.
